Job summary

The University of Southern California Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, CA is hiring a Registered Nurse for 5 South Telemetry on a full-time, 12-hour night shift. The RN supports patient care leadership, ensures safety and quality, and works with the care team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

California RN license required; BSN preferred; 1 year acute care experience; Cardiac Cath Lab or ortho/stroke experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Registered Nurse Program.
• BSN preferred; if not upon hire, will obtain within 5 years.
• 1 year clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Experience in ortho and stroke patient populations preferred.
• California RN license required; BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as specified.

Responsibilities

• Assist charge nurse with planning delivery of patient care for the shift.
• Precepting and competency validation for new hires and procedures.
• Directing assigned team and coordinating patient care activities.
• Communicating expectations and reporting unusual events through chain of command.
• Contributing to quality improvement and growth of unit services.
