Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles is seeking a Clinical Staff Nurse for MedSurg/Telemetry on the 4th Floor. The role covers 12-hour night shifts with an emphasis on patient- and family-centered care using the Watson Model.

You'll participate in discharge planning, care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives. Requires CA RN license, 1+ year nursing experience (Med/Surg/Telemetry preferred), BLS/ACLS, and strong clinical assessment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience.
• Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Current California Nursing license.
• Basic EKG competence.
• Certifications in Progressive Critical Care or Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
• Basic computer skills.
• CPI Blue Card within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• The nurse demonstrates the use of nursing process to anticipate and plan for patient and family needs.
• Prioritizes and organizes patient care; ensures follow-through with planned care.
• Provides care appropriate to the age and needs of patients; applies current research and critical thinking to decisions.
• Supports Patient Satisfaction efforts through interactions with patients and families.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary discharge planning with Care Managers.
• Documents care in IPOC and communicates changes with clinicians.
