Job summary
Prime Healthcare in Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL seeks a Medical-Surgical Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified) for the Medical-Surgical Acute Unit 5. The role involves providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, and supporting mobility for adults on heart monitors during 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a).
Entry-level NAs or CNAs are welcome to apply if non-licensed or lacking experience.
Qualifications
- Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office, preferred
Responsibilities
- Basic patient care: assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
- Vital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation
- Mobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices
- EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors are connected and functioning and alert nurses if alarms occur
- Observation: monitor patients for changes and notify the nursing staff promptly
