Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care using the nursing process in a busy hospital setting. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, and document patient responses while collaborating with physicians, therapists and support staff.

Responsibilities include ongoing reassessments, discharge planning, and patient/family education to support positive outcomes. A BSN is preferred and CPR/BLS certifications are required within set timelines.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or compact state.
• Associates degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment
• Certified in CPR; BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning of patients according to nursing standards.
• Provides initial assessment and reassessments according to organizational standards and documents per policy.
• Implements and documents nursing interventions and patient responses with interdisciplinary communication.
• Delivers patient/family education and discharge planning integrated into teaching.
• Demonstrates leadership and mentorship, participates in quality improvement and adheres to hospital policies.
