Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with department standards and nursing models. You will collaborate with providers, advocate for patients and families, and contribute to an outstanding patient experience consistent with our mission and values.

Responsibilities include admission assessments, medication administration, prompt responses to patient needs, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• < 1 year applicable experience

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology
