Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking an Inpatient Post Surgical Registered Nurse to influence patient care within a collaborative environment. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while aligning with organizational values.

You will work with the care team to educate patients and families, perform nursing procedures, and document care in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year applicable experience.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift; promptly identify and report changes in patient status.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and document care in the medical record.
• Provide prompt, compassionate care and respond to patient requests.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow-up measures; translate complex medical terminology.
