Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
• BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
• Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate and revise a plan of care with realistic, measurable goals.
• Implement care and coordinate with the health care team.
• Evaluate patient progress and response to care and teaching.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
• Provide care based on best available evidence and mentor others as needed.
• Participate in improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
• Supervise staff and manage workflow where applicable.
• Communicate with all levels of staff, physicians, and patients to support patient care.
