Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate unit operations during the shift.

The CNC will lead staff, monitor nursing care, and align with policies to drive exceptional patient outcomes and departmental performance. Key responsibilities include coordinating admissions/discharges, staff scheduling, staffing initiatives, and collaboration with management to improve service quality.

Qualifications

• RN license is required to practice as a nurse coordinator.
• Associate Degree or higher in nursing is required.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS/CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patient care.
• Collaborate with management to assess and improve quality of care in the unit.
• Coordinate staffing and labor in line with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Support interviewing, training, and performance management of staff.
• Engage in service recovery and promote a patient-first philosophy.
• Assist with inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
