Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care for patients. The role requires an active Illinois RN license and CPR/BLS, with ACLS within 6 months of hire and several NICU/ICU/pediatric certifications as indicated.

The position emphasizes compassionate patient care, evidence-based practice, accurate documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
CPR/BLS certification.
ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
NRP and related pediatric/OB certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
Establish a compassionate environment to provide support to patients and families.
Plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care with the healthcare team.
Provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal health.
Demonstrate clinical judgement and report changes in patient condition promptly.
Document accurately in patient medical records.
Contribute to policies to support patient safety and quality of care.
Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed staff.
Advocate for the patient through collaboration with care professionals.
Complete required education, competencies, and licensure timely.
Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.
