Job summary

Mercy Health in Clermont Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support the Med/Surg unit during evenings and nights. The role includes basic patient care, vital signs, personal care, and mobility assistance under RN supervision.

You will document care accurately, communicate changes to the nurse, and help with hand-offs. EPIC EHR training is preferred, and prior acute care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Recent acute care or related experience preferred.
• BLS certification preferred; must obtain before direct patient care.
• Must have completed one of the listed licensure paths.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including vital signs, hygiene and mobility assistance.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients, families and staff.
• Accurately document patient care in a timely manner.
• Participate in hand-offs and report needs on arrival and departure.
• Mobilize patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourage patient independence in daily tasks.
• Individualize care based on patient interests and needs.
