Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient activities of daily living under the supervision of a RN/LPN in Voorhees Township, NJ. You will assist with bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility, and transport, while adhering to safety protocols and care plans.

You may perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic vital signs as directed, communicate changes in patient status to the nursing team, and contribute to patient satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Perform vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN/LPN.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
