Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees Township, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living under RN/LPN supervision. You will support the care team, communicate with patients and families, and help maintain safety and dignity in daily tasks.

The role emphasizes basic patient care, documentation, and participation in quality initiatives. Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of a PCT/CNA program, plus BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, mobility, transport).
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, Foley catheter care; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Reinforces education of patient and family/responsible party regarding care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
