Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for Med Surg 4W in Lorain. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with basic nursing tasks, and ensure accurate documentation and hand-offs according to policy.

The role requires professional communication, empathy, and adherence to safety standards. Typical schedule is full-time, 36 hours per week, with shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, and every other weekend and holiday.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient and healthcare safety standards and regulations.
• Infection prevention and transmission based precautions.
• Patient data collection and documentation (vital signs, intake/output).
• Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vitals, hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Serve as liaison between patient and nurse and report changes.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Document accurately and timely for patient care.
