Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg Oncology unit. This full-time day shift (7A–7P) supports patient care, assists with daily living activities, monitors vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Foley catheter procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Requires HS Diploma or GED and BLS within 90 days of hire. One year healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Provide direct patient care on Med/Surg Oncology unit.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and EKG testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and observe patient conditions.
• Document patient status timely and accurately.
• Support safety practices under RN supervision.
• Assist with Foley catheter procedures and specimen collection.
