NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Nurse Aide for Med Surg-2 North to support patient care on a full-time Day shift with alternate weekends. Under RN supervision, you’ll perform routine duties to ensure patient comfort and safety and help prepare rooms for diagnostics.

You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the care team to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification (AHA) and first aid training.
• De-escalation training provided on job.
• Ability to read and write at an elementary school level to understand the patient’s plan of care and to record data on the medical record.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic to take and record patient weight, vital signs, I&O.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families and recognize cultural diversity.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and provide excellent customer service.

Responsabilités

• Deliver basic nursing care to support patient comfort and safety.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and relay needs to nursing staff.
• Observe patient condition and report changes to nurse promptly.
• Assist with activities of daily living: nourishment, ambulation, hygiene, toileting.
• Adapt care delivery to meet individual patient needs.
• Provide direct nursing care including vital signs, baths, skin care, catheter care and specimen collection.
