Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Med Surg Float Pool in Albany, NY. This part-time role involves floating to medicine, post-surgical and emergency departments, with a float pool schedule during night shifts.

You will assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement and manage patient care to support transitions and discharge. The position requires NYS RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and 1–3 years of clinical RN experience, including telemetry or ICU exposure.

Qualifications

• Current NYS RN license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Minimum 1–3 years RN clinical experience; telemetry or ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, plan and direct care across episodes with focus on discharge.
• Administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and document as required by policy.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a plan of care for all patients.
