The nurse will float to medicine, post-surgical, and emergency departments, providing assessment, planning, and direct patient care across units to ensure smooth transitions and timely discharge.

The role requires a NYS RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, with 1–3 years RN experience, including telemetry or ICU exposure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program with diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree.
• Current NYS RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• 1–3 years of clinical RN experience.
• Telemetry or ICU experience required.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments and tests, and documents as required by policy and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needs for and responses to care rendered.
• Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of professional nursing.
