Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Critical Care Float Pool to provide compassionate, high-quality care during night shifts across units. The role includes medication administration, starting IVs, treatments, tests, and documentation in line with policy and regulations.

The requirements include a NYS Registered Nurse license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and 1–3 years of RN experience in Med-Surg, Progressive Care or ICU.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN).
• Must hold NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1–3 years RN experience in Med-Surg, Progressive Care or ICU.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements orders, administers medications, starts IVs, and documents treatments per policy.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
• Assesses patient needs and responses to care; applies nursing judgment.
• Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses; collaborates on care plans.
• Directs ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
