Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a float pool registered nurse to support medicine, post-surgical and emergency departments. The role involves coordinating, directing, and delivering patient care across the care continuum with emphasis on discharge planning and transitions in the acute stay.

The RN must hold a NYS license, and possess BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications with 1–3 years of clinical RN experience and telemetry/ICU exposure. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program with Diploma/Associates/Bachelor's degree.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.

Responsibilities

• Implements orders, administers meds, starts IVs, and documents care per policy.
• Picks, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient condition.
• Assesses patient needs and plans care, applying nursing judgment.
• Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries.
• Collaborates with the team to create a Plan of Care and coordinates care.
• Directs ancillary staff to maintain nursing standards and quality improvement.
