Job summary

Aurora Health (now part of Advocate Health) WI Resource Team is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical float pool. You will provide adaptable nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need, delivering high-quality care in fast-paced environments.

Requirements include an active RN license, BLS (ACLS preferred), and at least 2 years in Medical Surgical nursing. Weekend and holiday coverage are required as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• RN license required in practicing state.
• BLS certification required; ACLS desired.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience.
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Fri 1900–Mon 0700).
• Holiday requirement: 2 holidays per year.

Responsibilities

• Engages in governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds safety culture and ensures accurate EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively and delegates as appropriate.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Ethics and ethical decision-making; supports integrated patient care.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
