• Coordinate clinical assessments and decisions with the team.

• Advocate for patients and line staff.
• Participate in shared decision making.
• Support nurse preceptors during orientation.
• Ensure float staff receive floor orientation.
• Contribute to employee evaluations.
• Manage staff and patient flow; assign staffing based on census.
• Prioritize care based on patient acuity.
• Coordinate admissions and transfers with House Supervisor/Bed Coordinator.
• Ensure shift reports start on time with SBAR handoff.
• Monitor breaks and staffing levels for shifts.
• Determine next-shift staffing needs and communicate.
• Ensure equipment checks are performed.
• Set expectations and uphold unit goals.
• Make decisions aligned with team goals.
• Collaborate within/across units for patient/fiscal outcomes.
• Maintain open lines of communication.
• Foster nurse/physician collaboration via SBAR and rounding.
• Provide support, oversight, and coaching.
• Coordinate care in high-risk situations; notify leadership.
• Document patient care issues; report promptly.
• Ensure nurses complete required concerns.
• Promote a positive, professional environment.
• Support Kaweah Health leadership through professional behavior.
• Understand and use medical staff and Kaweah Health chain of command.
• Provide employee guidance and address counseling needs.
• Deliver patient care as needed.
• Meet RN requirements (job code 7020339).
• Make fiscally responsible staffing decisions.
• Stay compliant with regulatory standards.
• Conduct audits and reports as assigned.
