Job summary

Kaweah Health is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Medical/Surgical-3N unit in Visalia, CA. This full-time night-shift role supports efficient unit operations, mentors staff, and ensures quality patient care under nurse leadership.

The incumbent will coordinate staffing, patient flow, and interdepartmental collaboration to meet unit goals. The position requires an active California RN license, BLS, and preferably a specialty certification.

Qualifications

• CA RN license is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Preferred: nationally recognized certification per specialty Core Curriculum Pathway.
• Education: BSN, MSN, or currently enrolled in RN-BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Primary clinical resource for staff on assigned unit.
• Mentor staff and model leadership in the absence of managers.
• Provide leadership and problem-solving to ensure safe patient care.
• Coordinate care in high-risk or emergent situations and alert leadership as needed.
• Promote professional communication and collaboration with physicians and other departments.
