Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Mechatronics Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of Mechatronics Engineers and Mechanical Engineers dedicated to designing, developing, and testing actuation solutions and next-generation robotic systems.

You will own the full lifecycle of actuation and robotic hardware development—from concept through production readiness and scaled deployment—while partnering with controls, electrical, and software teams to deliver integrated

Qualifications

• Experience in DFx (cost, test, manufacturing)
• Experience with project management of technical projects
• Bachelor's degree in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics, systems engineering or related field
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience with at least 3+ years of management
• Experience in rotary actuation design and related components
• Familiar with CAD/FEA design tools and industry trends
• Ability to manage process-driven development while balancing time to market
• Commitment to rigorous testing and validation practices
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Experience leading engineering teams across mechanical/mechatronics disciplines
• Extensive system design experience interfacing with electromechanical subsystems
• SolidWorks or similar CAD and configuration management experience
• Experience in developing functional specs, V&V plans, and test procedures
• Hands-on experience with proof-of-concept models and prototypes
• Understanding of hardware principles and product design
• Experience with full product lifecycle and meeting milestones
• Experience evaluating design and tradeoffs for hardware systems

Responsibilities

• Lead team of Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineers across actuation hardware and robotic systems
• Own delivery of mechanical and mechatronic products from concept to production
• Oversee design, simulation, testing and integration of electromechanical systems
• Collaborate with controls, electrical, and software teams to deliver integrated hardware solutions
• Drive design for manufacturability and high-volume production readiness
• Develop performance metrics and report progress to executives
• Maintain rigorous testing and validation practices across all projects
• Manage vendor relationships and component procurement for production timelines
• Support international travel as required by the program
