Job summary

Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) in Portland, OR is offering a paid internship on the Integration & Coordination Team. You will gain hands-on experience with VEPS activities, ECU validation, and cross‑functional collaboration across software, hardware, and validation groups.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Bachelor's program or recently graduated, with interests in automotive systems, data analysis, and problem solving. Hybrid schedule with in-office and remote work is available.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or have recently graduated within 1 year of start date.
• Basic understanding of automotive systems, electronics, or embedded systems.
• Experience with data analysis, troubleshooting, or debugging techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment (software, hardware, validation, manufacturing).
• Experience with Excel or Python and data analysis tools.
• Exposure to CAN tools (e.g., CANalyzer/CANoe) is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support VEPS integration activities including ECU intake, documentation, and parameter validation throughout the development lifecycle.
• Analyze vehicle data, parameter sets, and test results to identify integration or configuration issues.
• Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and knowledge-sharing tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, validation, and manufacturing.
• Participate in system-level verification activities (Truck-in-a-Box, pre-series validation).
