Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Chassis Dynamics Engineering Intern in Gaffney, SC to gain hands-on experience across the product development process. You will create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings, support design activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve chassis systems for school bus applications.

This internship offers exposure to CAE/FEA, testing, data analysis, and an individual project on a design enhancement or process improvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or graduated within the past year.
• Familiar with 2D and 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks and PTC Creo.
• Basic understanding of statics, dynamics, strength of materials and mechanical design.
• Demonstrated interest in mechanical design and product development; collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Assist with component and system design activities.
• Support vehicle and component testing; analyze test data.
• Work on an individual project focused on design enhancement or process improvement.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, supplier and validation teams.
