Job summary

AFL Telecommunications, LLC is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to support, modernize, and integrate automated manufacturing equipment within our cable manufacturing operations in the United States. The role emphasizes PLC/HMI upgrades, drive systems, and advanced troubleshooting to ensure safe, reliable, and production-ready machinery.

You will work with Maintenance, Process Engineering, Operations, OEMs, and integrators to implement control improvements, startup new equipment, and document all

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering is required.
• Strong electromechanical and industrial automation background with ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC/HMI, drives, motion control, sensors, machine vision, and safety systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute machine improvement and automation projects to support manufacturing objectives.
• Translate project needs into controls, automation, electrical, and electromechanical solutions.
• Design, develop, program, integrate, and commission machine modifications involving PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and scope of work.
• Validate modifications meet defined project objectives and document changes for long-term support.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Process Engineering, Operations, OEMs, and integrators as needed.
