Job summary

AFL in Duncan, South Carolina, seeks a Mechatronics Engineer to support, modernize, and integrate automated manufacturing equipment. You will apply expertise in industrial controls, electrical systems, motion control, and machine troubleshooting to keep operations safe, reliable, and maintainable.

You will lead upgrades and new installations, coordinate with Maintenance, Process Engineering, Operations, OEMs, and integrators, and ensure equipment meets AFL requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering required.
• Strong electromechanical and industrial automation background.
• Experience with PLC/HMI programming and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Execute machine improvement and automation projects supporting safety, quality, and reliability.
• Translate project needs into controls, automation, and electromechanical solutions.
• Design, program, integrate, and commission machine modifications including PLCs, HMIs, drives.
• Validate modifications and document changes for long-term support.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and OEMs to meet production requirements.
