Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Washington state is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and integrate electrical test equipment for the New Glenn program. You will model 2D/3D electrical systems, manage BOMs, release documentation in Windchill, and coordinate hardware builds with technicians.

The role emphasizes safe operations, collaboration with test, flight, and safety teams, and mentoring colleagues while ensuring on-time delivery of test systems and readiness for qualification and acceptance

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on assembly and test of aerospace hardware or systems, plus production test campaign execution.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen/national, U.S. permanent resident, or eligible refugee/asylee.
  • General knowledge of test execution, instrumentation, and manufacturing coordination.
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Physics or related field.
  • Experience with work order management, materials procurement, and production scheduling.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Model 2D/3D electrical systems; manage BOMs and configurations; release docs in Windchill; configure test setups.
  • Ensure safe, timely operations; work with safety-critical hardware and shop equipment; mitigate risks; support test procedures.
  • Coordinate with suppliers; communicate status; mentor staff; develop approaches to solutions.
