Job summary

Vast is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer II in Long Beach to support development of systems for human-rated space stations. You will design and operate test rigs, perform hands-on assembly and testing of ECLSS hardware, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test readiness and data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with fluid/chemical systems and pressure systems.
• Ability to build, operate, and troubleshoot test rigs and hardware.
• Ability to create test documentation and maintain traceability from planning through execution.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate test rigs and GSE for ECLSS fluids, chemical, and electrical control systems.
• Perform hands-on assembly, integration, instrumentation, and testing of hardware.
• Develop and maintain test procedures and documentation with traceability.
• Support Haven-1 flight hardware through Acceptance and Qualification tests.
