Job summary

Amphenol Corporation’s ACS division in Etters, PA, seeks a Mechanical Test Engineer to lead mechanical and environmental evaluation from development through qualification.

You will develop robust test methods, direct lab technicians, and turn force and durability data into decisions about product performance; collaboration with product, SI, manufacturing, and quality teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years in product testing, qualification, or mechanical design validation; connector or electromechanical experience preferred.
• Ability to design fixtures and test methods, interpret drawings and GD&T, analyze data, and write clear reports.
• Experience with force measurement systems, environmental chambers, and common lab instrumentation; familiarity with Instron and Bluehill is a plus.
• Strong organization, independent judgment, and ability to work with technicians and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into documented test plans with sample definitions, acceptance criteria, controls, and reporting.
• Own test setup and method development, including fixtures, instruments, calibration, repeatability checks, and safe operation; supervise technicians.
• Maintain traceable records of sample identity, conditions, raw data, calculations, deviations, and results; analyze variation in reports.
• Plan qualification programs and urgent one-off tests; coordinate cross-discipline work without compromising data quality or safety.
• Investigate unexpected results, distinguish artifacts from product behavior, and recommend follow-up tests or design changes.
