Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Materials Science Test Engineer to lead materials characterization and qualification for connector products at our Etters, PA site.

You will translate requirements into test plans, own setup and method development, and maintain rigorous records. Collaborate with engineers to interpret results and support design decisions within a safety-conscious, high-quality lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• 3+ years of materials testing/qualification experience.
• Knowledge of polymers, metals, finishes and related characterization methods.
• Ability to document observations and write clear technical reports.
• Strong organization and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into documented test plans with criteria.
• Own test setup, method development, and sample preparation with lab technicians.
• Maintain traceable records and analyze data for qualification reports.
• Plan schedules for qualification programs and coordinate cross-discipline work.
• Investigate unexpected results and recommend follow-up tests or design changes.
• Develop material test plans for polymers, metals, finishes, solder joints, and adhesives.
