Job summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our growing team in Huntington Beach, CA. You will operate complex mechanical testing equipment, review client specifications, and support day-to-day lab operations.

Qualified candidates have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, hands-on experience in a mechanical testing environment, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Educated to a good general standard including English and Maths.
• Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant materials related discipline.
• Hands-on job.
• Sound mechanical bias.
• Previous experience in an appropriate Engineering environment is a distinct advantage.
• Experience of working within a Mechanical testing environment is advantageous.
• An understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficial.
• Self motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organise and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratory.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A team player attitude.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpretation of internal and client requirements
• Supervising allocated staff and being responsible for the day to day management of the relevant discipline
• Operating complex mechanical testing equipment
• Maintaining accurate and systematic records
• Performing other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratory
• Performing general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality as well as Health and Safety system
• Application of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipment
• Report writing, data interpretation and analysis
