Pro Staff in Newark, CA is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to support assembly, inventory management, material handling, and lab organization in a prototype environment.

This full-time role involves kitting, BOM verification, and working with high- and low-voltage systems. You will operate hand and power tools, follow standardized work instructions, and collaborate with engineering and production teams on prototype builds and testing.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, BOMs and electronics.
  • Experience using hand and power tools and assembly equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support prototype assembly operations through kitting and material preparation.
  • Build and assemble high- and low-voltage distribution systems and harnesses per instructions.
  • Assist with BOM verification and inventory management.
  • Provide instrumentation support and inventory checks.
  • Maintain clean, organized prototype lab using 5S and EHS practices.
  • Disassemble and scrap components to support inventory control.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on prototype builds and testing.
