Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related materials discipline.
• Hands-on experience in an engineering environment, preferably mechanical testing.
• Familiarity with ISO 17025 or quality management systems is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a busy lab.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Interpretation of internal and client requirements
• Supervising allocated staff and being responsible for the day to day management of the relevant discipline
• Operating complex mechanical testing equipment
• Maintaining accurate and systematic records
• Performing other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratory
• Application of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipment
• Report writing, data interpretation and analysis
