Qualifications

• Educated to a good general standard including English and Maths.
• Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on technician with strong mechanical bias.
• Experience in engineering environment is advantageous.
• Experience in a mechanical testing environment is advantageous.
• Understanding of ISO 17025 quality management is beneficial.
• Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team player.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret internal and client requirements.
• Supervise allocated staff and manage day-to-day discipline.
• Operate complex mechanical testing equipment.
• Maintain accurate, systematic records.
• Perform other duties for the laboratory.
• Follow internal procedures, quality and HSE systems.
• Apply instrumentation and set up data capture equipment.
• Report writing, data interpretation and analysis.
