Job summary

Milliken & Company in Inman, SC is seeking a Mechanical Technician to maintain and repair equipment, ensuring reliability to meet quality and production goals. The role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and diagnosing mechanical problems on manufacturing equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

This position will primarily be a rotating shift with an on‑call rotation. Candidates should have a HS diploma or higher, relevant technical degrees, and hands‑on maintenance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate/Technical degree in Mechatronix, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or similar.
• 2+ years of mechanical/industrial equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
• Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, on-call, and holidays.
• Experience reading control schematics, electrical and maintenance blueprints.
• Willing to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in hot/cold conditions.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Understanding of equipment types including pumps, bearings, seals, steam systems, HVAC, and meters.
• Proficiency reading blueprints and P&ID.
• Basic proficiency in aerial lifts, rigging, and hoists.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment, tools, machines, and buildings.
• Analyze and solve mechanical problems and assist manufacturing personnel on process-related issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and establish new PM activities.
• Assist in installation, moves, and rearrangements of machinery.
• Follow safety-related standards and practices.
• Document all work in a CMMS with feedback to planning and scheduling.
• Advanced roles include lean manufacturing improvements.
• Senior roles include training peers and leading small teams.
