Job summary

Milliken & Company’s Allen Plant Chemical Facility in South Carolina seeks an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and control systems across manufacturing equipment, ensuring reliability to meet quality and production goals. The role requires a 12-hour shift rotation (first and third shifts).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate or Technical degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, or Electronic Technology.
• Two years electrical/electronic or instrument & control troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel).
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, on-call, and holidays.
• Ability to read and follow control schematics/blueprints.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in hot or cold conditions.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with industrial controls including DCS, motor controls, valves, instrumentation.
• Experience with power distribution up to 600V and related electrical documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment, tools, machines, and buildings.
• Analyze and solve electrical/electronic/control problems and assist personnel with process-related issues.
• Ensure proper operation of control system components including DCS, analyzers, valves, solenoids, and I/O modules.
• Perform preventive maintenance and develop new PM activities as needed.
• Assist with installation of machinery, moves, and plant rearrangements.
• Contribute to Lean manufacturing improvements and efficiency.
• Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance to plan, procure, and document activities.
• Share knowledge on maintaining and troubleshooting DCS, instrumentation, and controls.
• Follow applicable codes, safety standards, and OEM guidelines.
• Participate actively in plant safety program.
