Job summary

JLL in Austin, TX is seeking a Mechanical Technician to keep critical building systems running reliably. You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, boilers, chillers, and pumps, diagnose issues, and support energy-efficient operation across multiple systems.

Work with facility teams to respond to service requests, document work in CMMS, and ensure safety and quality standards. A hands-on role where problem-solving impacts building performance daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with technical HVAC training.
• 3–5 years’ hands-on experience in commercial HVAC/mechanical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and BAS interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and independent work style.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults using tools and manuals.
• Respond to service requests to minimize downtime and maintain comfort.
• Monitor BAS and adjust settings for energy efficiency.
• Keep logs and work orders in CMMS with accurate documentation.
• Coordinate major repairs with engineers, contractors, and vendors.
• Inspect mechanical rooms for issues and ensure safety compliance.
• Adhere to safety codes and JLL environmental standards.
