Job summary

TC Energy’s US Gas Operations team in Kansas Meade area is expanding to support pipeline maintenance and gas storage systems. The Mechanical Technician will troubleshoot and service gas-fired engines, compressors, valves and related infrastructure, often with 24/7 on‑call responsibilities.

The role requires understanding 4‑cycle engine operation, experience with oil and gas systems, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a field setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant oil and gas industry experience.
• Understand and describe the operation of a 4‑cycle combustion engine.
• 3 years mechanical experience with internal combustion engines.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, operate and maintain gas-fired engines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, pumps, boilers, coolers, air compressors and gear boxes.
• Operate compressor engines and support equipment.
• Maintain and repair pipelines and valves.
• Inspect and service regulators and relief valves.
• Blow down, purge and pressurize pipelines and stations.
• Plan, coordinate and perform mechanical maintenance activities, including major projects.
• Complete work orders and enter data into SAP.
