Job summary

The Chemours Company in Deepwater, NJ seeks a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance & Reliability team. The role reports to a Maintenance Supervisor and requires lifting up to 50 lbs, PPE use, and 12‑hour rotating shifts in a 24/7 facility.

Responsibilities include maintaining plant equipment, performing preventive maintenance, reading schematics, troubleshooting, and SAP-based work orders. A relevant degree or trade certification is required, with safety as a core value.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or journeyman/NCCER cert in Mechanical Maintenance.
• Able to lift 50 pounds frequently and work in PPE.
• Read diagrams and mechanical drawings, interpret schematics.
• Experience with pumps, valves, conveyors, and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain all plant equipment per instructions.
• Assist in preventive maintenance programs for equipment.
• Interpret single line diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Troubleshoot, dismantle, and repair equipment and parts.
• Enter information in SAP to manage maintenance work orders.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in all areas.
• Work flexible hours, including on-call, nights, and weekends.
