Job summary

Chemours’ Deepwater, NJ site seeks a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. You will maintain valves, pumps, conveyors, and related equipment, perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, troubleshoot, and install repairs.

Must have an associates/journeyman/NCCER-related credential and relevant field experience, capable of lifting 50 lbs, and able to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends as needed. PPE required.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Journeyman's License or NCCER certification or completed vocational-tech program related to Mechanical Maintenance and Installation.
• Adequate relevant field experience may be considered.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Must have excellent manual dexterity and visual acuity; stand, walk on varied surfaces, crouch, kneel, climb stairs.
• Must wear PPE (Level A suit, full-face respirator, SCBA, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, Tyvek, hearing protection, gloves).

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain plant equipment (valves, pumps, agitators, fans, conveyors, pipework) per instructions.
• Assist in preventive maintenance programs and scheduled maintenance.
• Interpret single line diagrams, piping schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Troubleshoot and replace defective machines or parts; install repairs.
• Enter information in SAP to manage Maintenance Work Orders.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in assigned areas.
