Seeking 2 (two) ME Techs with skillset to assembly process skids. Background in stainless steel process piping, tubing, pipe and tube fittings, PVC piping, process equipment (pumps, valves, installation), machine shop and power tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Piping & Joint Assembly: Install, align, and torque process piping systems across multiple joint types, such as flanged spools, threaded/NPT connections, compression fittings, and hose barbs, following specified torque sequences and gasket specs
- Tubing Fabrication & Routing: Measure, cut, deburr, and bend small-bore tubing; route lines neatly and assemble compression fittings (e.g., Swagelok, Parker) to manufacturer depth and gap-gauge standards.
- Machine Shop & Power Tool Fabrication: Cut, saw, drill, chop, and tap steel, aluminum, plastics (PVC/CPVC), and structural wood using cold saws, horizontal/vertical band saws, drill presses, and handheld power tools to build skid mounts and brackets.
- Process Component & Equipment Installation: Identify, mount, and integrate fluid process hardware into skid frames — pumps, manual/actuated valves, heat exchangers, and instrumentation.
- Weld Preparation Support: Measure, cut, deburr, and precision-face pipe and tubing runs; thoroughly clean and prep joint bevels and fit-ups to support manual and orbital welding operations.
- Drawing Interpretation & Material Planning: Read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials New Contractor Requisition Form (BOMs) to plan daily assembly workflows, verify part callouts, and track component staging.
- Equipment Rigging, Forklift Handling & Anchoring: Safely rig, pick, move, and spot heavy process skids, pumps, and machinery using forklifts and rigging gear; precision [1] level, shim, and anchor equipment bases to concrete slabs.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- P&ID & Drawing Literacy: Read P&IDs, mechanical layouts, and BOMs for assembly and parts staging.
- Piping & Flange Makeup: Fit, align, and torque flanged, NPT, and barbed joints to engineering specs.
- Tube Bending & Routing: Measure, bend, deburr, and install small-bore tubing cleanly.
- Compression Fitting Expertise: Assemble and gauge Swagelok and Parker fittings to manufacturer standards.
- Power Tool Proficiency: Cut, saw, drill, and tap metals and plastics using band saws, cold saws, and drill presses.
- Weld Joint Preparation: Cut, face, deburr, and solvent-clean tube and pipe for welders
- Plastic Piping Assembly: Cut, prep, dry-fit, and solvent-cement PVC pipes and fittings
- Forklift & Rigging Execution: Safely operate forklifts, slings, and skates to spot, level, and anchor heavy skids.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Mostly indoors lab, warehouse and factory environments. Some outdoor fields and plant assembly
- Requires use of ladder, standing for long periods, bending, reaching, and lifting components weighing up to 50 lbs.
Technical Experience: Often requires 1–3 years of experience
