  • Experience training and mentoring manufacturing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of hand and power tools and inspection devices.
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lb.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily workflow to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Perform advanced mechanical assembly and system integration work.
  • Assign and coordinate work to meet production goals and quality standards.
  • Monitor production flow and escalate issues as needed.
  • Interpret drawings, BOMs, and specs to resolve assembly issues.
  • Train and support assemblers on methods, safety, and compliance.
  • Coordinate on‑the‑job training and cross‑training activities.
  • Support engineering and quality teams with troubleshooting and improvements.
  • Communicate production status and priorities to team and leadership.
  • Ensure safety, 5S, and policy compliance; maintain clean work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Assembly Lead coordinates daily activities within the mechanical assembly area while performing advanced assembly and integration work. This role provides hands‑on leadership to Mechanical Assemblers, helping the team achieve production, quality, safety, and delivery objectives. The Mechanical Assembly Lead serves as the primary technical resource for complex mechanical assemblies, large form-factor builds, copper tubing installations, fluid systems, and troubleshooting activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily workflow within the assigned manufacturing area to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Perform advanced mechanical assembly and system integration activities, including large form-factor builds, copper tubing, piping systems, valves, fittings, hoses, and fluid management systems.
  • Assign and coordinate work activities to ensure production goals, quality standards, and schedule commitments are achieved.
  • Monitor production flow and elevate material, quality, tooling, or staffing concerns as needed.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and specifications to support production activities and resolve assembly issues.
  • Train, coach, and support Mechanical Assemblers on assembly methods, workmanship standards, safety requirements, and process compliance.
  • Coordinate on‑job training (OJT) and cross‑training activities within the work area.
  • Support Engineering and Quality teams with troubleshooting, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements.
  • Communicate production status, quality concerns, and operational priorities to team members and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, 5S, and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) years of mechanical assembly, manufacturing, HVAC, industrial equipment, cooling systems, or electromechanical assembly experience required.
  • Experience with complex mechanical integrations, copper tubing, piping systems, valves, fittings, hoses, and fluid management systems required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting assembly issues and supporting root cause investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and support team members in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work within manufacturing systems and software.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for up to 10–12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation; mechanical lifting devices and team lifts may be utilized as needed.
