ManpowerGroup in New York, NY is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the Engineering Support team. You will perform hands-on modification, testing, and repair of machinery and equipment, contributing to project testing and equipment readiness.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree in engineering technology and up to 2 years in a corporate environment, with strong analytical and communication skills. This is an onsite role with a 12pm–9pm shift and a contract-to-hire path.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering technology or related field required.
• 0-2 years experience in a corporate environment preferred.
• Basic ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
• Basic ability to perform detail calculations to establish manufacturing standards.
• Experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts sketches and write work orders for outside contractors.
• Draft detail drawings to support fabrication or parts procurement.
• Review project instructions and blueprints to confirm test specs and troubleshoot.
• Identify, modify, and plan fabrication, assembly, and testing requirements.
• Inspect drawings for clarity and evaluate tool designs against specifications.

Our client,is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be part of the Engineering Support team supporting technical projects that require hands‑on modification, testing, and repair of machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem‑solving ability, clear verbal and written communication skills, and a detail‑oriented, team‑first mindset that will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Location: New York, NY

Pay Range: $22/hr

Shift: 12pm (noon) - 9pm

What's the Job?

• Prepare parts sketches and write work orders and purchase requests for outside contractors.
• Draft detail drawings or sketches to support drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet, or wood shops.
• Review project instructions and blueprints to confirm test specifications, procedures, objectives, and to support troubleshooting and redesign needs.
• Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify, and plan requirements for fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Inspect lines and figures for clarity, return erroneous drawings for correction, and evaluate tool drawing designs by measuring dimensions against original specifications.

What's Needed?

• Associate's degree in engineering technology or related field required.
• 0-2 years experience required in a corporate environment (corporate environment experience preferred).
• Basic ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
• Basic ability to perform detail calculations to help compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
• Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to the engineering field.
