R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC is seeking Mechanical Team Members (QMI) for our Minot, ND location. You will perform railcar inspections and repairs, document work and materials, and comply with federal regulations.

The role requires a valid driver's license, strong teamwork, and QMI training or the ability to complete it. This is a full-time position with a focus on safety and efficiency. Applicants should be capable of handling physical work, using repair tools, and maintaining documentation

Qualifications

• Railroad carman experience with extended haul inspections highly desirable.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Must have good communication and people skills with demonstrated ability to develop teamwork and work with all levels of personnel.
• Proficiency in car repair, data entry, and material ordering.
• Ability to complete QMI training.

Responsabilités

• Maintain understanding of documenting work performed and recording material usage.
• Ensure all federally required paperwork for railcar repairs is complete and correct.
• Ensure that repair jobs are completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure that vehicles and shops are kept clean and safe.
• Must undergo QMI training.
• Must be proficient in car repair, data entry, and material ordering.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:â¯

Physical Requirements

• Able to perform physically strenuous work.
• Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Requires occasional use of a 30 lb. claw bar, requiring application of 50 lbs. of force.
• Requires occasional use of a 10 lb. sledgehammer, requiring application of 75 lbs. of force.
• Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails, and ballast in a safe manner.
• Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary.

Environmental Conditions

• Performs duties in outdoor environments, in and around moving locomotives, railcars, vehicles, and equipment.
• Frequent exposure to weather elements.
• Appropriate PPE required.
• Must carry out responsibilities in a fast-paced railroad environment.
• Requires the ability to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment.
• Requires professional interaction with supervisors, employees, contractors, and customers.
