Job summary

R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC is seeking energetic individuals to join our Emergency Response Team in Fargo, ND to clear derailments for railroad customers across the United States.

Responsibilities include laborer duties, safety compliance, equipment maintenance, and constant communication with the team and supervisor. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring travel and on-call availability 24/7.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical capacity test
• Outdoor laborer experience preferred
• Willingness to travel across the United States

Job description

R. J. Corman is seeking safe, energetic, fast paced individuals who enjoy working outside, understand the thrill of accomplishment and hard work to join our Emergency Response Team in Fargo, ND. Work consists of clearing derailments for our railroad customers across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laborer/groundsman duties to clear railroad derailments
• Practice safe working habits and ensure proper PPE is being used
• Safely maintain vehicles and equipment
• Communicate with team and supervisor throughout the job process
• Be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
• Participate in frequent travel and be on call 24/7 to respond to emergencies

Specialized Or Technical Knowledge, Education And Experience

• Previous outdoor laborer experience preferred
• Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical capacity test

Physical Requirements

• Able to perform physical strenuous work
• Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
• Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner
• Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary

Environmental Conditions

• Must be able to respond to emergencies within one hour
• Performs duties in multiple environments including outside job sites, in and around moving vehicles and equipment.
• Exposure to weather elements
