Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer in Orlando, FL for a 12-month contract. You will create technical specifications and define requirements for gas turbine auxiliary systems, including air intake, acoustic enclosures, ventilation and fire protection, and provide field and manufacturing support.

You will review designs, support procurement, coordinate with Lead Engineer, Customer, Suppliers and Project Management, ensure supplier solutions meet specs, attend shop

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required.
• 6+ years of related technical experience in mechanical systems for gas turbines or similar.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.

Responsibilities

• Review internal and external designs and documentation.
• Coordinate with Lead Engineer, Customer, Procurement, Suppliers and Project Management.
• Ensure alignment of supplier solutions with requirements specification and customer needs.
• Attend manufacturing shop inspections, provide field/site support during installation, commissioning and warranty.
• Contribute to Bid Management through proposal support.

Job Description

• As the Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for creating technical specifications and defining requirements according to customer design standards, fulfil tasks and targets set by the organization, resolve any issues which may arise in the manufacturing process or in the field, and provide technical support as well as trouble shooting.

• Preparation of technical specifications, verification of supplier bids with clarifications, technical supplier negotiations including risk assessment and commercial selection support for- Air Intake system, Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers, Noise Enclosures, and Fire Protection system.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing internal and external designs and documentation.

• Support procurement department regarding technical issues.

• Coordination with Lead Engineer, Customer, Procurement, Suppliers, other Engineering departments, and Project Management.

• Ensuring alignment of the supplier’s solution with requirements specification, customer needs, and interface partners.

• Attend manufacturing shop inspections, perform field/site support during installation, commissioning and warranty.

• Proposal support for Bid Management team.

Experience

• 6+ years related technical experience

• Detailed knowledge of auxiliary mechanical systems of a gas turbine, such as air intake, acoustic enclosure, ventilation, fire protection.

• Capability to handle cross-functional and cross-product line initiatives, domestically and internationally.

Skillset

• Ability to work as part of a larger global engineering team in a collaborative manner.

• Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form and to interface within a wide range of organizations both internally and externally.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
