Job summary

LanceSoft in Orlando, FL is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to drive technical specifications, verify supplier bids, and lead cross-functional supplier negotiations for air intake, heat exchangers, noise enclosures and fire protection systems.

The role involves reviewing designs, coordinating with procurement and project teams, and ensuring solutions meet customer requirements. Field installation support and warranty activities are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5-10 years of related technical experience.
• Knowledge of auxiliary mechanical systems of a gas turbine (air intake, acoustic enclosure, ventilation, fire protection).
• Ability to work cross-functionally across domestic and international teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication across diverse organizations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical specifications and verify supplier bids with clarifications.
• Conduct technical supplier negotiations including risk assessment and commercial selection support.
• Review internal and external designs and documentation.
• Coordinate with Lead Engineer, Customer, Procurement, Suppliers, other engineering departments and Project Management.

• Attend manufacturing shop inspections and provide field/site support during installation, commissioning and warranty.
• Provide proposal support for Bid Management team.

Mechanical Systems Engineer

Shift: 1st shift

Pay Rate: $43.00/ Hour

How You’ll Make an Impact

Preparation of technical specifications, verification of supplier bids with clarifications, technical supplier negotiations including risk assessment and commercial selection support for- Air Intake system, Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers, Noise Enclosures, and Fire Protection system. Reviewing internal and external designs and documentation. Support procurement department regarding technical issues. Coordination with Lead Engineer, Customer, Procurement, Suppliers, other Engineering departments, and Project Management. Ensuring alignment of the supplier’s solution with requirements specification, customer needs, and interface partners. Attend manufacturing shop inspections, perform field/site support during installation, commissioning and warranty. Proposal support for Bid Management team.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5-10 years of related technical experience.
• Detailed knowledge of auxiliary mechanical systems of a gas turbine, such as air intake, acoustic enclosure, ventilation, fire protection.
• Capability to handle cross-functional and cross-product line initiatives, domestically and internationally.
