Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer at our Middletown, OH location to provide maintenance engineering support and maximize equipment availability. You will analyze health equipment, recommend strategies to reduce shutdowns, and serve as a technical resource for planning, scheduling, and execution of mechanical maintenance.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years in heavy manufacturing, with preferred experience in AutoCAD and steelmaking

Qualifications

• Experience required in heavy manufacturing environments and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop long and short-range goals for modernization and growth of facilities and annual budgets.
• Mechanical systems design, equipment specifications, and drawing development.
• Project supervision for mechanical system development, procurement and installation.
• Manage downturn projects including contractor resources and directing Union hourly workforce.
• Provide engineering design/specifications for mechanical equipment and systems (rotating equipment, piping, vessels, conveyors).
• Flag risks to production and advise on equipment reliability and maintenance activities.
• Maintain unit availability perspective and reliability strategy; document problematic equipment.
