Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs invites applications for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at the Dearborn Works HDGL facility. The role focuses on determining root causes of equipment failures, developing and implementing corrective actions, and establishing maintenance procedures to improve equipment stability.

Responsibilities include outage planning, failure analysis, and collaboration with Operations to ensure drawings reflect equipment changes while maintaining spares and procurement coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Demonstrated equipment reliability knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with a Maintenance Repair Software System and MS Office suite.
• Ability to perform maintenance/reliability studies and FMEA.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment availability and performance; analyze issues using Pareto analysis.
• Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
• Plan outages and maintenance; establish preventive maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with operations/technical teams to ensure drawings and modifications are up to date.
• Coordinate with suppliers and engineering for new/modified equipment design requirements.
• Set standards for inspections and maintain inventory control of spares.
